The tool that I found most effective was the internet. It’s great because the Job Application Package came in very handy with submitting resume for real job applications. The least effective for this course was the CPR. I didn’t like that I had to submit my work to the site one day and come back the next to complete it. I usually like to complete one assignment all at the same time. I would suggest finding a site that would allow the students to do that. It might help some students with remembering due dates for assignments. Overall, I would take another on line course because it allows you the freedom to submit your work from the comfort of your home.

The most effective tool that I used was the internet. I have never used the computer for so many things before such as, applying for jobs or creating a blogger. These tools are very effective to my learning style because the computer is one of the most used tool at this time. The tool that I like the least was the CPR. I would have rather used a tool that would let you do calibrations the same day you submit it. This was I wouldn't have to worry about remembering to do the calibrations. Overall, I would take another on line course. It was very convient for my everyday schedule and allowed me the freedom to work from home.

I believe that I used the internet the most for submittting my resumes online. That was one great aspect of the Job Application Package. These tools were very effective with my learning stlye especially since I use the computer everday. The tool that I liked the least were the CPR. You had to remeber to go back to finish the assignment. I would have preferred to use another tool that would allow you to start callibraions the same day you complete the assignment. This would help some people to remember to do it instead of putting it off to the side. Overall, I would take another online course because it allowed you to take the course from your home. -Hatice

I have never taken an online course before so this was a new experience for me. It was nice to be able to work on the assignments on my own time. It was also convenient to be able to access and turn in my assignment on any computer with access to the Internet. I greatly enjoyed the flexibility.
The hardest part about this online course was the lack of personal interaction between the professor and the students. I missed be able to listen to a lecture and learn in that type of atmosphere. Even if the professor is very prompt in responding to email and has office hours open for students with any questions, it is still difficult to learn without the lecture.
The main reason I had difficulty is because I am not use to this new style of learning. I am used to sitting in a classroom listening to my professor teach the information to us. In the traditional classroom setting, the professor finds the information and usually breaks down the information so you can digest it easily. In this class environment, the professor provides you with the information but you are need to be able to locate and learn the information.
Overall, I liked taking this course online and I learned a lot of useful information. I learned more about the combination between writing and technology. My main problem and concern was with the CPR program. I did not like how that was used because it is not necessarily graded on the quality of the paper but the standard deviation between reviews. Other than CPR, I thought the course was well done.

I really dislike CPR. The net effect of using CPR is that technical writing is worth very little. I could turn in nothing and still make a B on the assignment. Or, as was the case with me, I could turn in an excellent assignment but make a low B due to me having a difference of opinion with the calibration or my peers. This method of grading has the effect of taking emphasis away from technical writing and onto mind reading.

I think that Moodle is a powerful collaboration tool. I liked that it provided a nice central place to have a forum, wiki, and professor’s instructions. However, it would have been nice if changes to Moodle resulted in an automatic email. I also dislike using the wiki editor on browsers that allow ActiveX because it makes the edit process a GUI and doesn’t allow me to edit the raw HTML.

I have mixed feelings about the textbook. I think that this text was not designed to be read cover to cover, and so some sections repeat themselves. I would have liked a textbook that is a little bit more linear or procedural instead of being tree based.

I probably would not take another online course unless I had no other option. I liked most of the online resources, but I would prefer a lecture where I can hear the tone of the professor’s instructions. I think that professor interaction would also be better if the professor can hear the tone of my questions.

One of the tools used during this course that did not agree with me would be the wiki. I did not like it because in order to find out if a group member had posted a response, I had to log into my moodle account to check repeatedly. The forums were more convenient because when a new post was submitted, I received an e-mail notice about it. I also did not like the podcasts. They were not compatible with my browser, and I had to switch over to Internet Explorer in order to hear them for every assignment.

On the other hand, the tools used to submit the assignments, Turnitin.com and CPR, were fast and easy to use. I also liked Moodle. By just checking this one website, I could find all the assignments for the semester, check my grades, and have easy access to the professor. The calendar of important dates was particularly useful. I think the effectiveness of these tools is related more to my comfort with technology and to my online habits. It is easy to submit homework online and to check for assignments when my computer is right by my desk and where I do all my homework and studying.

I would take another online course delivered in this method. I like how even though it is an online course, there is still interaction with others in the class.
